Please join my new group, it started as a joke with friends, all of whom said “I’ll join”.
Wheels On the Track Fraternity.
That’s our job. (By the way, my term for fraternity is aimed at friendship rather than one particular gender.)
It’s about support and kindness and looking out for one another on the phone, over a coffee or drink.
Looking after a familys’ life is a full on job, everyday clean clothes (sometimes pressed!), homework complete not in neon pen. And when all is sorted … but before you breath out … there is the usual curve ball of forgotten this or that or cereal spilt or toothpaste on the sweater or recent one a bottle of fabric conditioner back flipping, arc-ing taking in 360 splatter zone all overt the pile of clean laundry. And yesterdays freak accident cos the angels needed a laugh – my son’s ruck sack accidentally catches my full travel cup (yes un lidded) and another splash zone over my shoes, but thankfully not my new (in a sale) gems. It was threatening rain so last minute I went for a manky, in-their-last-wears pair.
It is the everyday, mundane, but necessary which keep the wheels on track. So here’s to us and the Wheels on Track Fraternity.
