Five Days +
You must go on a long journey before you can really find out how wonderful home is.
Tove Jansson, Comet in Moominland
How far will you go?
- Expand the weekend adventure
- Half term? A week's holiday? Two weeks... more...
- Fill the white pages of your calendar going further, with more time to doing more things that are different, and/or familiar.
- A two or three centre trip with different activities? A one stop break with more relaxing? Picnic-ing? Beach time?
- Make the journey part of the adventure: either way on a ferry for example Harwich to the Hook of Holland... rather than flying which is ‘travel’.
Further afield
We have ventured as a family:
From doorstep and garden to park to National Park.
Days and weekends, on foot, with wheels, canoes, boats with engines and sails.
Now we are going to set out on adventures further afield.
It’s not necessarily about huge amounts of money. It’s about focus and wanting to go.

Where do we want to go?
Near or far? Somewhere new? What's our budget? Lots of local jaunts or one longer trip? Who made the choice last time? What's the weather looking like? What's on...?

How do we get there?
Walk? Bike? Canoe? Car? Bus? Train? Ferry? Yacht? Is it the destination? Or are you making the journey there and back the experience? This is not just a practical question …
