Devon to the Mediterraen
Hamish and Clara took six months off (from April to September) to sail and motor from the UK through the French Canals where they motored to Marseilles, then sailed to the Balearics and Sardinia. Instead of the original plan to return to the UK, they decided not to return home but leave their boat in Barcelona, Spain, they left with the view that they will return the next summer. Top two memories:
Travelling up the Seine, our first sighting of the Eiffel Tower and the excitement of exploring Paris. All of a sudden the pace changed from sleepy river life and the boat traffic in central Paris was insane!
Arriving in Corsica in the early morning. Imposing cliffs and still snow on the highest peaks, way off in the distance. A stunning anchorage; we were ones there and the water impossibly blue and clear. The weather was getting hotter every day. We needed nothing more.
