Provisioning for camping

The ‘kitchen’ in the tent as we were packing up! Like “Dory” in “Finding Nemo”  instead of “just keep swimming”, I say to myself, “Just keep packing, Just keep packing.”

Pro Things

When Winnie the Pooh was going on an ‘Expedition’ with Christopher Robin, he noted that he needed ‘Pro-things’, provisions.

Suggestion of shopping list. (See also Pantry)

Tins of beans

Hot chocolate using boiled water and skimmed milk powder, or, skimmed milk in a saucepan.

Bacon

Sausages (on sticks)

Digestives/chocolate digestives marshmallows

Sticks for marshmallows

Tins of soup

Ready made food in a bag. E.g. Bolognese, steak casserole, or made at home and deep frozen.

In the camp fire

Potato’s wrapped in foil and cooked in the base of the fire

Bread dough on sticks

Grown Ups

Box of wine

Box of beer

“Cupboard

  • Water
  • Milk
  • Hot chocolate/tea/coffee
  • Sandwiches for breakfast/brunch/lunch
  •  Nutella/marmalade/jam
  • fried egg
  • tuna and sweetcorn
  • ham slices
  • cheese slices
  • cucumber
  • tomato
  • Salt, pepper, dried herbs, mustard, oil for cooking, mayonnaise.

Camping Breakfasts. 

Fried bacon butty , fried bacon with egg and baked beans, is simple and popular. And sets you up for activity filled day.

Cereal is easy (Crunchy Nut, Krave or Cinamon -wotever).
