Just in case it rains …The more the drizzle, the louder the grizzle.
Wet weather gear.
Add: Waterproofs tops and trousers, or all in one waterproofs
Wellies and socks
Trainers which can get muddy.
Gloves/wool hat
Take an extra layer, even if it means squishing coats into a rucksack, so be it.
And, let them get muddy. They can wear waterproof all-in-ones or play clothes that can be throw into the washing machine.
And where ever you are walking remember, as a sign outside a church in the Florida Keys, decreed: “Blessed the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.”
Longer Walks
Hiking boots with thick socks.
When buying your hiking boots it is worth clomping around the house with woolly socks to wear them in. Blisters caused by rubbing boots can ruin a walk. Many boots are pre-worn in.
