WHAT TO DO IF YOU GET INTO TROUBLE
The RNLI recommend swimming between the red and yellow flags.
- If you find yourself in trouble, float in a star shape.
- If you fall into cold water, you can go into shock and start hyperventilating.
- It is about calming yourself down.
IF you see someone in trouble dial 999, and ask for the Coastguard.

KEEPING WATCH
Even with a lifeguard on duty, always swim with young children, and if that is not an option, watch them at all times. It is not easy to have ‘eyes on’ all the time but if you are changing the other ones nappy, get another adult to do keep an eye out.
